So true, and using python as one of the first commentators suggested would be a very BAD idea for just that reason.

It would appear the author of python is a control freak, and rather than following standard, time-proven conventions, he instead chose to impose HIS very awkward style on everyone he uses the language.

That being the case, most people have trouble wrapping their head around python since it's *NOTHING* like C (or other traditional languages, for that matter). PHP and even PERL use C-like constructs where it makes sense, so it's easier to transition from a traditional programming background to those particular languages.

That means less garbage code for those of us maintaining production servers to have to tune around.

Honestly, if I had to work with python I'd probably quit on the spot. It's THAT bad!
